Waaahh! It’s hard doing this without Our Fearless Leader!

I know everybody is missing Cheryl (although she’s still around, just busy with a younger audience these days), but some teen events have been planned for July, so don’t give up on us. Can you believe it’s almost the middle of June? I wish it would get warm already! (Doesn’t have to be sunny for me – just warm)

July events for teens:

  • Wii Game Night
  • 7/2/2009
  • 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
  • Teen Movie: Iron Man
  • 7/16/2009
  • 6:30 – 8:30 PM
  • Bangles & Beads program
  • 7/29/2009
  • 7 – 9 PM
  • Wii Game Night
  • 7/30/2009
  • 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Please come to these so we know what you like, don’t like. There’s a teen events/programs page on our Web site: http://www.dppl.org/teen/library_events.html with a live RSS feed from our calendar. We consider teens to be adults, so you’ll find some adult events there, too.

Happy Valentine’s!

Since Valentine’s Day is a couple of days away, and the library is still running the “What’s your favorite love story?” contest until the 15th, I thought I’d bring the question out here!

Now your answers in the comments section won’t get you a chance to win (sorry!). But I thought it would be fun to see what everyone’s favorite love story/ies is/are. And if you hate love stories, this is your chance to tear them apart!

*BTW, there’s a whole bunch of events happening at the library on Saturday. Romance authors, CHOCOLATE TASTING, romance movie marathon, did I mention the chocolate? Visit www.dppl.org to learn more!

Winter Reading Club

heart-streamersWinter Reading has started at the library! The theme is: Love in the Afternoon. The High School collection is participating too-you can fill out a review of your favorite love story. There are slips available in the collection. Winter Reading runs from today until February 15, so there’s lots of time to submit a review(s). Nothing official has been said about prizes yet, but I think I can get us something!

Battle of the Books

This is it folks! Battle of the books July 24th at 6pm! Are you ready?

So I thought it would be cool if we had a thread for Battle of the Books. Make sure you let us know:

  1. Your favorite book
  2. Your least favorite (thought it would be intresting to see what everyone didn’t like)
  3. Do you want TAB to hold another Battle of the Books?
  4. Suggest a Battle of the Book for the next time

This is going to be an awesome battle so if you haven’t finished your books well what are you waiting for? Go and read (post here first!)! Please do not post spoilers here you may only spoil after Battle of the Books. Now I really need to go and read DH(I haven’t started it yet!) have fun!

Battle of the Books was brought to you by TAB a non for profit organization!

JK Thought that would be a funny thing to put at then end of this post.

Awesomely,

Caroline aka Emeraldink
